A Note from Kelsey

I began American Life Organizing + Design in 2019, when a personal shopping client asked me to help me go through her home to purge her unwanted items. I spent two weeks with her clearing out the clutter in her already beautiful home and implementing new systems with the simple goal of making her life easier and her home even better looking. The result was a home-affirming sense of order and calm. 

My interest in home organizing and decorating goes back to my childhood. My mother is an artist and designer who paid meticulous attention to detail in every area of the home. She was always coming up with beautiful and creative ways to implement organizing systems everywhere throughout the house, and I got to be a part of that, picking out the designs of my bedrooms and helping her to keep the house organized.

After starting to work with my own clients, I realized I had a knack for organizing and that I actually enjoyed helping people to make their spaces less cluttered, and more functional and beautiful. The demand for home organizing services has exploded in the last several years. This is due in no small part to the fact that we are consuming more than ever. Oftentimes, my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed by the amount of clutter in their lives and at a loss as to what to do to mitigate it. 

My role is to, without judgment, help you cut down on clutter and design systems to organize your home and to make it more beautiful. The goal of this process is to create a system that is easy to maintain and also to equip you with the tools you need to understand how to consume consciously so that you are living an organized life with limited extraneous clutter.

My background is in fashion and personal styling, which heavily influences my organizing work and space planning. I work with you through every step of the process (editing, purging, planning, and installing/implementing) to ensure that we end off with a beautiful result.
